Build Your Career as a Professional English Teacher in the Middle East — UAE, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait & Bahrain
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) — United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah), Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam), Qatar (Doha), Oman (Muscat), Kuwait and Bahrain — is the largest international destination for Indian English teachers and language trainers. Earning the Cambridge English TKT (Modules 1, 2 & 3) alongside the BRETS Professional English Teacher Certificate (PETC) gives you the exact credential combination Middle East principals and HR directors recognise.
Why Middle East Employers Trust Cambridge TKT Over Unknown Local Certificates
When a school principal in Dubai (KHDA), Abu Dhabi (ADEK), Sharjah (SPEA), Doha, Riyadh or Muscat reviews ratusan CVs from India, unfamiliar local institute certificates carry zero weight. By contrast, Cambridge English (Cambridge University Press & Assessment) is an awarding body every British, IB, American and CBSE international school in the Gulf already knows.
Sitting Cambridge TKT Modules 1, 2 and 3 earns you three separate, non-expiring Cambridge certificates graded from Band 1 to Band 4. Pairing those Cambridge certificates with the BRETS Professional English Teacher Certificate — which documents your 60 hours of micro-teaching, TPR and communicative classroom training and is verifiable online at bretsenglish.com/verify-certificate — immediately separates your application in Gulf interviews.
- UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah): Indian CBSE/ICSE schools, British-curriculum academies, and adult spoken-English/IELTS institutes.
- Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Al Khobar): International schools, university foundation-year English programmes, and vocational training academies.
- Qatar, Oman, Kuwait & Bahrain: Ministry-licensed private schools, Indian community schools, and corporate language training centres.

Open PETC Course & ModulesTalk to admissions- 60 hours — mixed — live classes, online and recorded sessions
- 3 months — 12 teaching weeks
- Mon – Fri — one hour a day
- Cambridge TKT — modules 1, 2 and 3
How the programme runs
Sixty hours of teacher training over three months, mixing live classes with online and recorded sessions, ending in the Cambridge English Teaching Knowledge Test.
Mixed content across 3 months — live classes, online and recorded sessions, and venue-based workshops where Cambridge or the exam centre ask for them. Not a video library you work through alone.
An hour a day is a timetable a working teacher can actually keep for twelve weeks.
New batches open through the week. Admissions confirm your commencement date once you enrol, so you start with a group at the same stage.
Taught by Nishad Ahmed Brets through demonstration, micro-teaching and continuous feedback — communicative language teaching, the direct, translation and TPR methods, principled eclecticism, warmers and energisers, PPP against ESA, and teaching grammar to learners who have to speak it.
The Cambridge qualification
The programme prepares you for, and enters you to, the TKT — Teaching Knowledge Test from Cambridge English (Cambridge University Press & Assessment) — the three core modules, examined one module at a time.
The language a teacher needs to describe language: grammar, lexis, phonology, the four skills, and how learners actually acquire them.
Planning a lesson and a sequence of lessons, selecting and adapting course material, and using the resources a real classroom has.
Classroom language, grouping and pacing, giving feedback, correcting error, and the teacher roles that make a class speak.
- Test format
- Each module is a single 80-minute multiple-choice test, sat on paper or on screen.
- How it is graded
- There is no pass or fail. Each module is reported in Bands 1 to 4, where Band 4 is extensive knowledge, and each module you sit earns its own Cambridge certificate.
- Entry fee
- Entry fees are set by the authorised Cambridge exam centre and are paid there, in addition to the course fee. Admissions confirm the current centre fee before you enter.
What you leave with
One certificate per module sat, issued by Cambridge English and recognised internationally, carrying your band for that module.
Issued online by Brets Pvt Ltd on completion, carrying your TKT band scores, and verifiable by any employer at bretsenglish.com/verify-certificate.
