All four modules under exam timing, end to end, rather than a handful of sample questions. It is the only kind of practice that tells you what your band actually is right now.
Band estimates from the published tables
Listening and Reading raw scores are converted using the official raw-score-to-band conversion, so those two numbers are as accurate as the tables themselves.
An explanation for every answer
Including the ones you got right by guessing — which is the half of the score that quietly disappears on test day if nobody points it out.

For Writing Task 1 and Task 2. Reading a band 9 answer next to your own tells you more about the four marking criteria than a page describing them does.

Practice is measurement
A mock score tells you which module is costing you the band and how far the gap is. It does not, on its own, fix the technique that produced it — no practice platform can mark your writing the way a trainer sitting with it can.

Free IELTS practice — questions people ask
Is the IELTS practice actually free, or free until the first question?
A complete IELTS Academic mock test is free, and so are practice sets in all four modules — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — with instant band estimates and explanations for every answer. Premium sets are ₹99 for one module or ₹999 for all four, one-time and with no expiry, and they are free for enrolled BRETS and LangVR IELTS students.
Do I have to sign up to start?
No. You can begin practising at langvr.com/ielts without creating an account. An account is only needed to save a score across sessions or to sit a full timed mock and keep the result, which is the point at which having the history is worth the signup.
How accurate is the band estimate?
Listening and Reading are converted with the published raw-score-to-band tables, so those estimates are as exact as the tables are. Writing and Speaking are estimates against the band descriptors rather than a certified examiner mark — useful for tracking movement between attempts, and not a substitute for the real test.
Is there General Training material or only Academic?
Both. They differ in Reading and in Writing Task 1, and the platform carries General Training material for those alongside the Academic sets. Pick the one you are actually sitting — practising Academic Reading for a General Training test wastes most of the benefit.
Can I use this without joining BRETS coaching?
Yes, entirely. The free tier is free to anyone, and the premium tier is buyable on its own. BRETS publishes it because a candidate who sits a free mock knows their real starting band — which makes the conversation about coaching a factual one rather than a sales one.
How does BRETS coaching connect to the practice platform?
LangVR is the group’s own platform, not a third party, so enrolled BRETS IELTS students get every premium set and full mock included, and their trainer can see what the practice scores say. That is the reason the coaching and the practice are worth taking together: the weekly classroom mock and the online practice are measuring the same candidate on the same scale.
